I hope you have had a wonderful weekend! It sure has been nice to see the sunshine this weekend. I hope it is a sign of warmer spring days to come. I hope students brought home their math test on Friday anxious to show you how amazing they did. I was so proud of their hard work and success on this assessment. Fractions are always difficult. If they haven't shown you, be sure and ask them to get it out.
Important Dates: Feb 25-Mar 1- Book Fair at Willard East Feb 26- Family Reading Night at Willard East 6:30-7:30 March 11-12 - Snow Make up Days. March 12 will be a 1/2 day attendance for students March 13-15 - Spring Break This week: Students can bring money in for the book fair and shop before school. They can also bring money on Monday and shop during our class library time. Math: This week we are taking a break from fractions and looking at line plots. We will be creating some of our own graphs this week and then looking at questions we can use the graph to help us answer. Writing: This week students will be presenting their Famous Missourian research projects to the class. They have worked really hard on these and done a fantastic job! They will be in the hallway on display for Family Reading Night. I hope you will be able to come see them. Reading: We are going to spend the next two weeks diving into figurative language. We will look at the different types and students will get a chance to write them as well. Science: We wrapped up plate tectonics last week and will be moving into rocks and rock layers this week. Reminder: Family Reading Night is this week on Tuesday from 6:30-7:30. The Parent Lighthouse Team will be selling chili if you are interested in dinner that night as well.
